The Lexington County Museum is slowly but surely becoming one of my favorite locations to shoot at! Aubrey (the youngest daughter in the family) is a classmate of mine, and contacted me around Thanksgiving asking me if I could take their family's photos as a Christmas present to the rest of her family. How sweet, right? Even though it was basically FREEZING out - they were such great sports and I absolutely love how great their session turned out!
Aubrey and her sister have matching sister rings! How cute!
I have found a new love for photographing families! Again, I'm so happy with how this entire session came out... I couldn't have asked for a better last session of 2017!
Lydia is such a fun person, and I always look forward to shooting with her! Last Thursday, we sort of spontaneously decided to meet up in downtown Prosperity, and boy oh boy am I glad we did. She had a fantastic outfit on, and I'm just so in love with how they came out!
How cute is downtown Prosperity?! I love all of the different colored brick buildings in this sweet little town. And the Christmas decorations made it even more adorable!
We really lucked out with some AMAZING lighting during our shoot! Between that, Lydia's super fun outfit (how cute is her thrifted coat? I absolutely love it!), and adorable Prosperity... It was such a successful shoot!
I probably should have shared this super fun session BEFORE Christmas, but can you believe that Christmas was Monday?! Anyways, photographing my sweet friend, Coralys was so much fun! Our mutual friend, Anna Marie (who y'all have seen here on my blog before) came with us to the Horseshoe at USC and we snapped a couple photos of her too. I gotta say, there's something about actually being a senior this year, and taking senior portraits of my fellow classmates. Senior year is flying by faster than I could have ever imagined... I mean graduation is just around the corner! To the seniors who are on the lookout for affordable portraits: look no further! Let me know how I can best serve you and your portrait needs.
The USC campus was decorated so beautifully for Christmas with wreaths and ribbons, and it was one of the best ways to spend a Saturday!
Such a fun and laughter filled session with Anna Marie and Coralys! Definitely one of my favorite parts of photo sessions (aside from the actual photo taking, of course) is the giggles shared with fun people!
I'm a little embarrassed at how far behind I am at publishing this set here on the blog... I took these so long ago I can't even remember. This session was my first session with a kid that was not one of my kid siblings. Will's mom hired me to do his "four year old" portraits this year! She actually was the one that introduced me to one of my new favorite locations, the Lexington County Museum. It's such a sweet little rustic location, and makes for some great photos! Anyways, I adored every second I got to spend with this sweet family! Although it can be a little hectic trying to get a four year old to sit still... Teamwork makes the dream work and I loved how the photos turned out! ANNNND I got to see my photos on their family Christmas card! It was so cute :')
Another great part about this session was capturing Will's curious personality. He had so many (stinkin' adorable) questions for his sweet mama, and I just loved seeing how fascinated he was with everything at the museum!
This is another shoot I probably should have shared BEFORE Christmas, because it features the cutest little Christmas decorations. The Lexington County Museum was looking absolutely adorable with their buildings adorned with homemade wreaths and other decor. Anyways, if you're thinking that Maddie looks a little familiar... that's because we shot together back in the Summertime! It was fun to not only hang out with her outside of English class, but take some updated pictures with her new hair color. The Lexington County Museum is the perfect location for an individual (or family) looking for a rustic kind of feel with their portraits.
I honestly couldn't have asked for a better senior session this past week. Catching back up with an old friend over a photoshoot sounds like an odd circumstance at first, but it was actually such a fun time! Megan and I were much closer back in middle school, but since our school district offers students the option to choose which high school they want to attend based on their interests, Megan and I went our separate ways. Being able to reconnect with this old friend is just one of many reasons why I love what I do!
Since we spent the whole time catching up and reminiscing on our middle school days, this session was full of laughs. And not just little laughs! We started our session last Saturday night at Irmo Town Park and then met up again on Thursday night at Spring Hill High School. I've done other sessions at Spring Hill before, but only with seniors of other high schools. This session was special in that I actually photographed Megan at the high school she is a current senior at! Such a fun session... definitely one for the books!
This past Wednesday I posted on my instagram story that I wanted to do a spontaneous, free photoshoot that night (stay tuned on my instagram story, I'd love to run a deal like this again sometime), and asked if anyone wanted to shoot. Anna Marie Vernau, one of my awesome senior reps contacted me within 5 minutes that she was free and wanted to meet up! Let me just start by saying words can't describe how much I love the Vernau family. Last Spring, I did Anna Marie's older brother, Joe's senior portraits. I had never done male portraits prior to Joe (besides my siblings) but this sweet family took a chance on me despite my inexperience, and we got some amazing photos! A few weeks before we did that shoot, Anna Marie had signed up to be one of my senior reps for the next school year. In June, Courtney and Anna met with me at the botanical gardens at Riverbanks Zoo, and I learned that Anna Marie is basically a natural model! We hadn't really spoke that much since then, except for when her sweet mom wrote me the kindest review on my Facebook page (on my birthday too!). This week though when we met up, she brought her younger sister, Maggie along. Originally we were just going to photograph Anna Marie, until Maggie had the cutest chambray top on with adorable accessories too. Their outfits coordinated perfectly, so we were able to get some really sweet sister portraits! Also - both girls are SUCH good sports! Sometimes I ask for a client to get in a particular spot by a tree... or basically almost in a tree, and although with other clients I've received some odd looks about my request, but the Vernaus are wonderful and basically jump right into whatever position I need them in! Makes my job SO much easier.. I love it!
The other week I got to reconnect with Savanna, an old friend from middle school, and took her senior portraits! We visited and explored all around downtown Prosperity and Newberry, South Carolina. Since it was a Monday evening, the streets were pretty quiet, and we were able to get some awesome pictures! I could tell she was a little out of her element especially when we were close to the main road and caught some stares... but she was such a good sport all throughout the session. After downtown Newberry, we headed by Spring Hill High School to catch a bit of magic hour light before grabbing some milkshakes at Sonic! All in all, we were really able to catch up through the session, and couldn't believe that we're going to graduate next June and how long ago our middle school days were.
Okay folks, prepare for a photo overload from Lydia's session... I tried to limit myself, honest I did, but I've never had a session come out this well! To say Lydia killed this session would be an understatement!! Almost every photo we took came out beautifully and she was such a good sport about all the ideas I had. Editing these was SO much fun too, mainly because only minimal edits were needed! Once again, the parking garage made for an AMAZING location - the lighting just before 8 am was BEAUTIFUL!
Also, I've never seen anyone with a straight face this good before! I'm so blessed to have Lydia as one of my CSP senior reps... This session was amazing!
Samantha is another one of my sweet senior reps from Gilbert, South Carolina! I so appreciated her making the trip downtown for our session. I had breifly met her last Summer so it was so good to actually get to hang out and get to know her a little better - oh yeah, and take some pictures of this beautiful girl! She's actually a local legend with her adorable preppy instagram and blog. Anyways, we visited the Horizon garage at 7am (after I spent about 30 minutes trying to get to the top) and then walked around the Horseshoe in the middle of the University of South Carolina (where Samantha plans on going for college) and then visited one of my favorite spots downtown, the main branch of the Richland County Public Library system. Needless to say, it was a good day!
